...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...A portion of east central Illinois, including the
following counties, Coles, Douglas, Edgar and Vermilion.

* WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 849 PM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in the
advisory area.  Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Danville, Charleston, Mattoon, Paris, Georgetown, Westville,
Tilton, Catlin, Oakwood, Chrisman, Ridge Farm, Oakland,
Newman, Kansas, Ashmore, Fairmount, Sidell, Hume, Brocton and
Allerton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
