...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Northwestern Cook County in northeastern Illinois... Northwestern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 415 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. Slow moving or standing water may continue. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 348 PM CDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Local law enforcement recently reported flooded roadways in the Itasca area. Across the advisory area, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional heavy rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... Northwestern Will County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 515 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. Slow moving or standing water may continue. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 342 PM CDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. A National Weather Service meteorologist recently observed several inches of flowing water across roadways in downtown Naperville making them impassable. Across the advisory area, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but little to no additional heavy rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Northern Lake IN County in northwestern Indiana... Northern Porter County in northwestern Indiana... * WHEN...Until 630 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 325 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Radar and observations indicate these storms are producing a quick 1 to 1.5 inches of rain in less than 30 minutes. This will likely result in minor flooding shortly after thunderstorms arrive. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
