At 724 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Hudson, or 10 miles north of Normal, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe storm will be near... El Paso around 730 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include Panola and Kappa. This includes the following highways... Interstate 39 between mile markers 3 and 21. Interstate 55 between mile markers 178 and 179. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central Illinois. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
