McHenry County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 657 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms earlier this morning, with additional steady rain and embedded thunderstorms currently over or near the area. Minor flooding is expected to continue in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rockford, Waukegan, Buffalo Grove, Crystal Lake, Wheeling, North Chicago, Gurnee, Mundelein, Algonquin, Highland Park, Lake in the Hills, Round Lake Beach, McHenry, Belvidere, Vernon Hills, Woodstock, Zion, Huntley, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Grayslake and Libertyville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will produce heavy rain this morning which may cause localized flash flooding.
