...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...East Central Cook County in northeastern Illinois... DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... Southern Kane County in northeastern Illinois... Northern Kendall County in northeastern Illinois... Northwestern Will County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 911 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall producing showers. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Locally, up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch, to locally higher, are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Cicero, Bolingbrook, Oak Lawn, Berwyn, Wheaton, Oak Park, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lombard, Carol Stream, Romeoville, Plainfield, Addison and Glendale Heights. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... In northeast Illinois, Central Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Northern Cook, Northern Will and Southern Cook. * WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas, especially in the vicinity of storm drains that are clogged by leaf debris. Underpasses and viaducts may flood in urban areas, as well. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Torrential rain-producing showers and storms is expected across the watch area through early this morning.
