Shabbona, moving east at 35 mph.

extending from near Gilberts to near Sleepy Hollow to Campton Hills
to Elburn, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

CENTRAL KANE COUNTY...

At 422 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes
were located along a line extending from near Huntley to Gilberts to
near Elgin, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is
likely.

These tornadic storms will remain over mainly rural areas of north
central Kane County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following
county, Kane.

* WHEN...Until 730 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Roads and streets may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 420 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms with rain rates
exceeding 2 inches per hour. Up to 2.5 inches of rain was
observed in less than an hour with these storms as they moved
through northern DeKalb County.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Elgin, Bartlett, Carpentersville, St. Charles, Algonquin,
West Chicago, Huntley, Geneva, Campton Hills, South Elgin,
Pingree Grove, Gilberts, West Dundee, Hampshire, Elburn,
Barrington Hills, Sleepy Hollow, East Dundee, Wayne and
Valley View.

extending from near Hampshire to 6 miles northwest of Lily Lake to
near Paw Paw, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

These severe storms will be near...
Huntley, Hampshire, Cortland, Waterman, DeKalb, and Shabbona
around 410 PM CDT.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...For the following counties, in Illinois, Boone, Cook, De
Kalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, La Salle, Lake,
Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Will, and Winnebago, and for Lake and Porter
counties in Indiana.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may
be flooded. Widespread, significant street flooding possible. Area
creeks and streams are already elevated, reducing how much
rainfall is needed for flooding to occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Soil moisture in many areas is above average to much above
average due to recent heavy rainfall. Rivers and streams
across northern Illinois are above average to much above
average for this time of year. Heavy thunderstorms with
rainfall rates of 2 to 4 per hour are possible through
tonight, due to atmospheric moisture content much above
average for this time of year. If repeated rounds of
thunderstorms were to affect the same location, then isolated
rainfall totals in excess of 5 inches would be possible.
Heavy rainfall is likely to cause flash flooding shortly
after onset, especially in urbanized areas and areas that
received heavy rainfall over the weekend.
