...BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW LIKELY MONDAY MORNING... Recent fluffy snowfall from Saturday in combination with bitterly cold temperatures and 20-30 mph southwesterly winds will result in a period of blowing and drifting snow Monday morning. Blowing snow will lead to sharply reduced visibilities and snow covered roads which will make travel hazardous, particularly on east-west oriented roads. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions Monday morning across north-central Illinois and west-central Indiana. If you encounter blowing and/or drifting snow be sure to slow down and use low beams. In addition, bring an emergency kit that includes extra clothing, and notify someone where you are going and when you plan to arrive in case you get stuck.
