Lake Michigan nearshore and open waters to mid lake from North
Point Light WI to Winthrop Harbor IL...

* Until 1000 PM CDT.

* At 800 PM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 33 nm southwest of White Lake Pier Heads to 27 nm
northeast of Wind Pt. to near Cudahy to 24 nm west of Milwaukee to
39 nm northwest of McHenry, moving east at 35 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.

* Strong thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern
Wisconsin...and the adjacent waters of Lake Michigan.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas,
Boone, Central Cook, De Kalb, DuPage, Eastern Will, Kane, Kendall,
Lake IL, McHenry, Northern Cook, Northern Will, Ogle, Southern
Cook, Southern Will and Winnebago and northwest Indiana, including
the following area, Lake IN.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may
be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An area of thunderstorms with rain rates up to one to two
inches per hour is expected to move through the area this
evening through the overnight hours. Elevated soil moisture
due to recent rainfall is expected to increase the
susceptibility to flash flooding.

A Flood Watch for flash flooding means rapid-onset flooding is
possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts.

- At 3:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 10.0 feet.
- Forecast...Flood stage may be reached late tomorrow morning.

* WHERE...Fox River from Johnsburg downstream to Red Gate Road in
St. Charles, including the Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwater gauge.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 10.5 feet, Structures threatened along Fox River
Drive in East Dundee. Parking lots threatened in downtown West
Dundee. Low-lying sections of Cornish Park are inundated in
Algonquin. Low-lying sections of Trout Park inundated north of
Elgin.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.5 feet.
- Forecast...Due to forecasted rainfall tonight, the river is
now expected remain above flood stage for the next several
days.
- Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
