Lake Michigan nearshore and open waters to mid lake from North Point Light WI to Winthrop Harbor IL... * Until 1000 PM CDT. * At 800 PM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 33 nm southwest of White Lake Pier Heads to 27 nm northeast of Wind Pt. to near Cudahy to 24 nm west of Milwaukee to 39 nm northwest of McHenry, moving east at 35 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Strong thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An area of thunderstorms with rain rates up to one to two inches per hour is expected to move through the area this evening through the overnight hours.
