...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM MONDAY TO 7 PM CDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Illinois, east central and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri. * WHEN...From 1 PM Monday to 7 PM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Thunderstorms and storm outflow may interrupt the heat at times. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
