...The Forest Service Sawtooth Avalanche Center in Ketchum has ISSUED an AVALANCHE WARNING which is in effect until 7 AM MST Monday... * WHAT...Avalanche warning. The avalanche danger is HIGH. Heavy snowfall and wind will produce widespread avalanching. * WHERE...The southern Salmon River, Sawtooth, White Cloud, Smoky, Soldier, Boulder and Pioneer Mountains, including the mountains near Banner Summit, Stanley, Smiley Creek, Atlanta, Galena Summit, Trail Creek Summit, and Dollarhide Summit. * WHEN...7 AM MST Sunday to 7 AM MST Monday. * IMPACTS...Natural and human triggered avalanches large enough to bury people, snap trees, or destroy structures will occur. Avalanches may strike roadways, trails, and buildings in the valley bottom. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended. Stay off and out from below steep slopes, slopes steeper than about 30 degrees.
