Avalanche Warning

...The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center in Bozeman has CONTINUED an AVALANCHE WARNING which is in effect until 530 AM Tuesday... * WHAT...Avalanche Warning. The avalanche danger is HIGH on all slopes. Natural and human triggered slides are very likely. * WHERE...The mountains near Island Park, West Yellowstone, and Cooke City. * WHEN...Until 530 AM Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heavy snowfall on a snowpack with unstable weak layers will make human triggered avalanches very likely. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist. Backcountry travelers should stay off steep slopes and away from the bottom of steep slopes. Avalanches can be triggered from flat terrain. Steep slopes can avalanche far above and run into lower angled-terrain. Consult www.mtavalanche.com or www.avalanche.org for more detailed information.
