* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values of 100 to 108 are
expected. For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions
with heat index values of 100 to 110.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and south central Iowa.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from noon to 8 PM CDT Friday. For
the Extreme Heat Watch, from Saturday afternoon through Sunday
evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
humidity may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat impacts will be worsened by several
consecutive days of sweltering temperatures, with little relief
overnight as lows will only be in the upper 70s.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
