...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM CDT THIS
EVENING FOR CENTRAL HUMBOLDT, NORTHWESTERN WRIGHT AND SOUTHEASTERN
POCAHONTAS COUNTIES...

At 850 PM CDT, Local law enforcement reported flooding impacting
some roads in the area after thunderstorms produced heavy rain
earlier this evening. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen,
and more storms may move through tonight which would prolong or
worsen any ongoing flooding.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Local law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Dakota City, Humboldt, Gilmore City, Renwick, Palmer, Rutland,
Hardy, Pioneer and Humboldt Municipal Airport.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northwest, and west central
Iowa, including the following counties, in north central Iowa,
Cerro Gordo, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, Winnebago and Worth. In
northwest Iowa, Emmet, Palo Alto and Pocahontas. In west central
Iowa, Calhoun, Crawford and Sac.

* WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are
running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
