Winds gusting as high as 55 mph resulting in brief, near whiteout conditions. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and central, east central, south central, and southeast South Dakota. * WHEN...Until 9 PM CST this evening. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Falling and blowing snow will lead to areas of quick and sudden reductions in visibility, making travel difficult, especially in rural areas that are prone to blowing snow. Strong winds could cause tree damage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds and snow showers will result in visibilities as low as one half mile at times.
