* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southern Harrison County in southwestern Iowa...
Northern Pottawattamie County in southwestern Iowa...
Shelby County in southwestern Iowa...

* WHEN...Until 530 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1227 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
Motorists along Interstate 80 should use caution as these storms
are lined up along the Interstate.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Harlan, Missouri Valley, Logan, Avoca, Walnut, Shelby, Persia,
Portsmouth, Westphalia, Tennant, Kirkman, Nishna Bend Recreation
Area, Prairie Rose State Park, Jacksonville, Historical Village
Welcome Center, Elk Horn Creek Recreation Area and Wilson Island
State Park.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
