* WHAT...Northwest winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph will
continue this evening. Localized higher gusts are possible.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northwest, and west central
Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and
northeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until midnight CST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Secure outdoor objects.

Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 10:06 PM Dec. 18, 2025 – National Weather Service
...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Temporary whiteout conditions across narrow corridors in
the warning area. Flash freezing is also expected in these narrow
snow bands. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. Winds
gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Illinois and east central and
northeast Iowa.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Temporary whiteout conditions are expected and will
make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening.  Strong
winds will also make driving difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...In a snowband, conditions will quickly become
treacherous with whiteout conditions and flash freezing
conditions. Apart from the snow bands impacts may be more limited.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons should consider delaying travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded.
