...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 105. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Thunderstorms and clouds may bring temporary relief from the heat on Thursday. Thus portions of the Advisory may be canceled early. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Water affects agricultural land along the river. Water is several feet deep in places. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 15.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The river level will continue to slowly rise over the next several days. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.6 feet early Friday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage by next Monday evening. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. &&
