...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Illinois, including the following
areas, Carroll, Henry IL, Mercer, Rock Island and Whiteside and
Iowa, including the following areas, Benton, Cedar, Clinton, Des
Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk,
Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington.

* WHEN...Through late Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Widespread rainfall is expected through Thursday night, with
rainfall totals reaching upwards to 2 to 3 inches. There will be
the potential for swaths of rainfall greater than 3 inches as
well in some areas. The cumulative effects of this rainfall will
result in rises along area rivers, along with the potential for
areal flooding as well. The threat for flash flooding is low.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE FRIDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.

* WHEN...Until late Friday night.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Overbank flooding occurs. Water affects
residences along the river between Wheatland and Calamus. Water
affects businesses along the river near Calamus.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 11.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river may fall below flood stage Friday evening,
but there remains uncertainty due to upcoming rainfall.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
