THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 460 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN IOWA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST IOWA BUENA VISTA CHEROKEE CLAY O'BRIEN PLYMOUTH IN WEST CENTRAL IOWA IDA WOODBURY IN NEBRASKA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST NEBRASKA DAKOTA DIXON IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA UNION THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALCESTER, ALLEN, BATTLE CREEK, BERESFORD, CHEROKEE, ELK POINT, HARTLEY, HOLSTEIN, IDA GROVE, JEFFERSON, LE MARS, NORTH SIOUX CITY, PONCA, SANBORN, SHELDON, SIOUX CITY, SOUTH SIOUX CITY, SPENCER, STORM LAKE, AND WAKEFIELD.
