...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 7 PM CST WEDNESDAY FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR ALL OF CENTRAL IOWA... The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM to 7 PM CST Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...All of central, north central and south central Iowa. * WIND...West wind 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph. * HUMIDITY...Minimum relative humidity values of 12 to 22% * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&
