Special Weather Statement
Issued: 1:11 PM Feb. 20, 2026 – National Weather Service
...Slippery Travel and Periods of Reduced Visibility in Snow for the Morning Commute... Snow will continue to move across the area through 830 AM before decreasing. The snow will be light to moderate in intensity at times, which combined with gusty winds of 35 to around 45 mph will reduce visibilities under 1 mile. Most locations will receive additional snowfall of under 1 inch of accumulation. There will also be drifting snow especially across north to south oriented roads. There is also a layer of ice under the snow on untreated roads making for slick conditions. Roads, bridges, and overpasses will be slick and hazardous due to the snowfall, underlying ice, and temperatures dropping below the freezing mark. If driving, slow down and allow extra following distance, and plan on slippery travel for the rest of the morning commute.
