Urban areas may receive more significant flooding and property damage due to rapid runoff. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue into this afternoon as deep tropical moisture is drawn northward over the area. Training of heavy showers containing intense rain rates is possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM HST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County... * WHEN...Until 800 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 453 AM HST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain over Oahu. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Rain was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 1.5 inches per hour. In addition, a slow-moving band of intense rainfall containing rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour is positioned immediately offshore to the west of Oahu and is advancing eastward. The coverage and intensity of heavy rainfall is therefore expected to increase during the next couple of hours, especially over western and northern portions of the island. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
