...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM HST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County...

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or
is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 751 AM HST, Doppler radar indicated a band of mainly moderate
rain continuing to move over Oahu from the south with rainfall
rates around 0.5 to 1.5 inches per hour. The heaviest rainfall is
occurring over the western half of the island, between Mililani
and the North Shore, where embedded pockets of higher rainfall
rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour continue to develop. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
the entire island of Oahu.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Oahu.

* WHEN...Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be closed
due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas may
receive more significant flooding and property damage due to rapid
runoff.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue into this
afternoon as deep tropical moisture is drawn northward over the
area. Training of heavy showers containing intense rain rates is
possible.

should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
