...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE ISLAND OF KAUAI IN KAUAI COUNTY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The island of Kauai in Kauai County. * WHEN...Until 945 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 529 AM HST, radar indicated moderate to heavy rain moving over Kauai from the southwest with elevated stream levels. Rain was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 1 inch per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... The island of Kauai. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. && This advisory may need to be extended beyond 945 AM HST if flooding; persists.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...The island of Kauai in Kauai County, The island of Niihau in Kauai County, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to excessive rainfall and overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Low pressure northwest of the islands will draw deep tropical moisture northward across the state, bringing the potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding.
