...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 AM HST EARLY THIS MORNING FOR PORTIONS OF EAST MAUI.. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The east and southeast slopes of Haleakala on the island of Maui. * WHEN...Until 515 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 344 AM HST, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain over portions of East Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 1 inches per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kaupo, Kipahulu, Hana, Kula, Keokea, Haleakala National Park and Hamoa. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action. A Flood Watch is also in effect for Maui County through Monday afternoon. && This advisory may need to be extended beyond 515 AM HST if flooding; persists.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains possible. * WHERE...Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island. * WHEN...For the Big Island, through Monday afternoon. Elsewhere, from late tonight through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A disturbance approaching from the northwest is expected to renew deep tropical moisture across all Hawaiian Islands beginning late tonight. Given saturated soils and elevated stream levels following recent heavy rainfall, flooding may redevelop quickly. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. &&
