...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST SATURDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR MAINLY LEEWARD AREAS... * AFFECTED AREA...Leeward portions of all Hawaiian Islands, including interior sections of Oahu and the Big Island and all of North Big Island. * TIMING...The main fire weather concerns will be for from late morning through the afternoon hours each day through 6 PM HST Saturday. * WINDS...East 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 40 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM HST SATURDAY... * WHAT...East winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 55 mph expected. * WHERE...Kahoolawe, most of Lanai, West and Central Maui as well as South Haleakala, and the Big Island including the Kohala and Kau Districts as well as the Humuula Saddle area. * WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Winds this strong can tear off shingles, knock down tree branches, blow away tents and awnings and make it difficult to steer, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Watch out for falling tree branches when walking or driving. Make sure tents and awnings are secure or take them down. Be prepared for power outages. &&
