...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON HST TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Big Island, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and Kahoolawe. * WHEN...From noon HST today through Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rain on the north side of an intensifying tropical cyclone will develop later today and tonight over Big Island and spread to Maui. Windward and southeast Big Island and windward Maui are the most likely to experience heavy rain, with considerable flooding possible over portions of Big Island Friday into the weekend. Other islands in Maui County are at risk as well. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. &&
