AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For north facing shores, surf heights of 12 to 16 feet,
building to 15 to 25 feet by Friday afternoon. For west facing
shores, surf heights of 8 to 12 feet, building to 12 to 20 feet
by Friday afternoon. Additionally, a combination of surf and
high water levels will produce nuisance coastal flooding.

* WHERE...For the High Surf Advisory, north and west facing shores
of Niihau, Kauai, and Oahu. For the Coastal Flood Statement, all
Hawaiian coasts.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 6 PM HST Friday. For
the Coastal Flood Statement, through Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents
will make swimming dangerous. Flooding of beaches that are
normally dry, minor coastal erosion, and saltwater inundation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid driving through flooded roadways. If you are forced to
drive through salt water, be sure to rinse your vehicle with
fresh water. Move electronics, vehicles or other valuables to
higher ground. Monitor vessels to ensure mooring lines don't get
too tight and watch out for overwash around boat ramps. Secure
canoes or other watercraft stowed on beaches.

Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't
go out.
