...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ALL SOUTH FACING SHORES FROM 6 AM FRIDAY TO 6 AM HST MONDAY... * WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, surf 7 to 10 feet on Friday increasing to 10 to 14 feet Saturday. For the Coastal Flood Statement, isolated minor coastal flooding. * WHERE...South facing shores of all islands. * WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, from 6 AM Friday to 6 AM HST Monday. For the Coastal Flood Statement, through late Sunday night. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Flooding of beaches that are normally dry, minor coastal erosion, and saltwater inundation. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Avoid driving through flooded roadways. If you are forced to drive through salt water, be sure to rinse your vehicle with fresh water. Move electronics, vehicles or other valuables to higher ground. Monitor vessels to ensure mooring lines don't get too tight and watch out for overwash around boat ramps. Secure canoes or other watercraft stowed on beaches. Heed all advice from ocean safety officials.
