Rip Current Statement
Issued: 5:58 PM Apr. 4, 2026 – National Weather Service
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE...East facing reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN...From this morning through Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The trade swell will build as the trade-
wind surge strengthens near and east of the Marianas. This will
elevate surf along north and east facing reefs and generate a
high risk of rip currents along east facing reefs through at
least Tuesday afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip
current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If
able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to
escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
