...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM EDT SUNDAY FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WINDS IN PORTIONS OF NORTH GEORGIA... The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Red Flag Warning for low relative humidities and gusty winds in portions of north Georgia, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM EDT Sunday. * Affected Area...North Georgia including the following: Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Union and Towns. * Timing...Noon to 8 PM Sunday * Winds...10 to 15 mph; with gusts to 20 to 25 mph. * Relative Humidity...Less than 25% * Temperatures...80 to 85 degrees * Impacts...With elevated winds and low relative humidities, critical fire weather conditions are possible. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... This warning includes the Chattahoochee National Forests. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring...or will occur within 24 hours. Please refer to the local burn permitting authorities on whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside...use extreme caution.
