...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following county, Effingham and southeast South Carolina, including the following counties, Beaufort and Jasper. * WHEN...Until 600 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 446 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain near Levy and Pritchardville. This activity will move northwest into areas around Hardeeville, Purysburgh, Rincon and Ebenezer through 6 AM. A quick 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall, resulting in minor flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jasper, Rincon, Hardeeville, Purysburgh, Ebenezer, Sun City, Stillwell, Calawassie Island, Morgan and Deerfield. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. &&

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following areas, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty, Coastal McIntosh, Effingham, Inland Bryan, Inland Chatham, Inland Liberty and Inland McIntosh and southeast South Carolina, including the following areas, Beaufort, Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper, Dorchester, Hampton, Inland Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Inland Jasper and Tidal Berkeley. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Bands of numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms will impact portions of the South Carolina Lowcountry and coastal Georgia through tonight. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches can be expected through early Monday morning with localized amounts exceeding 5 inches.
