...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM EST /MIDNIGHT CST/ TO 9 AM EST /8 AM CST/ TUESDAY... * WHAT...A freeze warning for a hard freeze with temperatures as low as 23 degrees expected. * WHERE...Southeast Alabama and Southwest and South Central Georgia. * WHEN...From 1 AM EST /midnight CST/ to 9 AM EST /8 AM CST/ Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing. &&

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect until 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Southeast Alabama, Southwest and South Central Georgia, the Florida Panhandle and Florida Big Bend. * WIND...Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 28 mph. * HUMIDITY...In the afternoon as low as 15 to 18 percent across the region. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds and low relative humidity will contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&
