Special Weather Statement
Issued: 6:24 AM Apr. 18, 2026 – National Weather Service
...INCREASED FIRE DANGER FROM 12 PM TO 8 PM EDT TODAY ACROSS
NORTHEAST GEORGIA...

Relative humidity values will fall below 35 percent this afternoon
across northeast Georgia. Breezy wind gusts from 15 to 20 mph can
also be expected this afternoon. Low relative humidity, breezy
winds, very low fuel moisture, and ongoing drought will allow any
fires that develop to spread quickly.

Refer to your local burn permitting authority regarding whether
you may burn outdoors.
