...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Liberty County in southeastern Georgia...
Long County in southeastern Georgia...
McIntosh County in southeastern Georgia...

* WHEN...Until 730 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 434 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area.
- Persistent thunderstorms are producing very heavy rainfall along
the Long County and Liberty County line. Radar estimates suggest
that 2 to 3 inches of rain has already fallen over the last 60 to
90 minutes, with isolated amounts up to 4 inches possible. Heavy
rain will continue in this area and could produce another 1 to 2
inches in some areas. At least minor flooding is expected along
area roadways including, but not limited to, Highway 84, Highway
119 and Tibet Road.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hinesville, Fort Stewart, Jones, Walthourville, Riceboro,
Flemington, Allenhurst, Gumbranch, Gum Branch and Retreat.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
