...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT FRIDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values 108 to 112 degrees expected Friday. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The highest heat index values are expected from noon through 4 PM Friday. Additionally, isolated showers and thunderstorms each afternoon may provide relief in some areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
