...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM EDT TODAY FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND STRONG WINDS FOR NORTHEAST GEORGIA... The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Red Flag Warning for low relative humidity and strong winds in northeast Georgia, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM EDT today. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected Area...Northeast Georgia. * Timing...Noon to 8PM Monday. * Winds...Northwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph are possible along the ridgelines and peaks in northeast Georgia. * Relative Humidity...25 to 30 percent. * Temperatures...Between 70 to 75 degrees, and between 60 to 65 degrees for portions of northeast Georgia at elevation. * Impacts...With elevated winds and low relative humidity, extremely dangerous fire weather conditions are possible. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... This warning includes the Chattahoochee National Forest. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring...or will occur within 24 hours. Please refer to the local burn permitting authorities on whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside...use extreme caution.
