In southwest Georgia, Decatur, Grady and Mitchell. * WHEN...Until 1130 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 829 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cairo, Thomasville, Bainbridge, Moultrie, Ochlocknee, Pavo, Coolidge, Whigham, West Bainbridge, Barwick, Climax, Akridge, Capel, Spence, Grady Co A/p, Elpino, Quality, Pine Park, Dawesville and Peoples Still. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Georgia, including the following counties, in south central Georgia, Brooks, Colquitt, Lanier, Lowndes and Thomas. In southwest Georgia, Grady and Mitchell. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A very moist environment is in place across the region. Late afternoon and early evening thunderstorms are expected to develop and produce locally heavy rainfall across the watch area. Rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are expected with isolated heavier totals to near 7 inches.
