...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 AM EST THIS
MORNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN COBB, NORTHWESTERN DEKALB, CENTRAL FULTON
AND SOUTHWESTERN GWINNETT COUNTIES...

At 250 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. The
expected rainfall rate is 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall
amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Atlanta, Marietta, Decatur, Peachtree Corners, Sandy Springs,
Roswell, Smyrna, Dunwoody, Chamblee, Norcross, Doraville,
Clarkston, Stone Mountain, Pine Lake, North Atlanta, North Druid
Hills and Midtown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring.

* WHERE...North Fork Peachtree Creek at Buford Hwy Atlanta.

* WHEN...From early this morning to this morning.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Minor flooding continues along the creek
upstream and downstream from the gage on Buford Highway or Georgia
Highway 13. Portions of the backyards of residential homes on
Victory Drive...Dunwoody Place and Converse Drive will be flooded
with around one foot of water. This height combined with the flow
on South Fork Peachtree Creek will likely produce flooding further
downstream on Peachtree Creek in Fulton County.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:15 AM EST Friday the stage was 13.2 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 1:15 AM EST Friday was 13.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.7 feet
early this morning.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring.

* WHERE...North Fork Peachtree Creek at Briarwood Rd Atlanta.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding
occurs along the banks upstream and downstream of the gage on
Briarwood Road. Flooding of low lying portions of the Peachtree
Creek Greenway occurs, particularly areas of the Greenway near
Corporate Boulevard.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 12:45 AM EST Friday the stage was 10.2 feet.
