...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 AM EST THIS MORNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN COBB, NORTHWESTERN DEKALB, CENTRAL FULTON AND SOUTHWESTERN GWINNETT COUNTIES... At 250 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Atlanta, Marietta, Decatur, Peachtree Corners, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Smyrna, Dunwoody, Chamblee, Norcross, Doraville, Clarkston, Stone Mountain, Pine Lake, North Atlanta, North Druid Hills and Midtown. Portions of the backyards of residential homes on Victory Drive...Dunwoody Place and Converse Drive will be flooded with around one foot of water.
