Special Weather Statement
Issued: 7:20 AM Nov. 17, 2025 – National Weather Service
...INCREASED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR NORTHEAST GEORGIA DUE TO LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES... A very dry air mass today will lead to Relative Humidities of 25 percent or less for four hours or more this afternoon into the evening, and could drop as low as 15 percent. The combination of low Relative Humidity values and very dry vegetation will lead to high fire danger conditions. Winds will toggle from northwest in the morning to west and southwest by the afternoon at 5 to 10 mph. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
