...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM CDT FOR SOUTHWESTERN JACKSON...NORTHEASTERN BAY...NORTHWESTERN CALHOUN AND EASTERN WASHINGTON COUNTIES IN THE PANHANDLE OF FLORIDA... At 1048 AM CDT, a severe squall line capable of producing both tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage was located 11 miles south of Chipley, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and golf ball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Jackson, northeastern Bay, northwestern Calhoun and eastern Washington Counties in the Panhandle of Florida, including the following locations... Brock Crossroad, Betts, Moose Pond, Orange Hill, Ridgetop, Fountain, Bradford, Alford, Camps Head, and Holmes Valley. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... TAKE COVER NOW! HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. At 1120 AM EDT/1020 AM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles northeast of Chattahoochee, or 13 miles southwest of Bainbridge, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Bainbridge, Havana, Cairo, Quincy, Whigham, West Bainbridge, Chattahoochee, Sneads, Gretna, Grand Ridge, Attapulgus, Climax, Capel, Florence, Jamieson, Recovery, Harrells Still, Laingkat, Calvary, and Princes Still.
