...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Gulf and Franklin County Beaches. * WHEN...From late tonight through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong east breezes will blow across the Gulf waters tonight through Sunday morning, creating hazardous marine and beach conditions. A high risk of rip currents will develop Saturday morning at the beaches, then continue through Monday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM EDT /9 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ SUNDAY... * WHAT...East winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots expected, strongest during the nighttime and morning hours. * WHERE...Offshore Gulf waters from the Walton-Okaloosa County line to the Ochlockonee River out 60 nautical miles. * WHEN...From 10 PM EDT /9 PM CDT/ this evening to 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ Sunday. * IMPACTS...A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots, or seas of 7 feet or greater, are expected to produce hazardous conditions for small craft. These hazardous conditions may result in poor vessel handling and steering response, broaching, overturned dinghies and kayaks, slips and falls on slippery decks, rub damage along docks and seawalls, and dragging anchors.
