Special Weather Statement
Issued: 8:37 PM Jan. 26, 2026 – National Weather Service
...VERY COLD TO FRIGID TEMPERATURES POSSIBLE LATE NEXT WEEKEND
INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK...

An Arctic cold front is forecast to move through South Florida
early next weekend bringing the potential for the coldest air the
region has experienced since January 2010. This cold blast could
last into the early portion of next week. While the exact details
remain uncertain at this time, there is the potential for lows
to drop down into the 30s across a good portion of the region and
even into the 20s west of Lake Okeechobee. When the wind is
factored in, the wind chill values have the potential to be colder
than the actual low temperatures during this time frame. Residents
and visitors to South Florida should continue to monitor the
latest forecast from NWS Miami throughout the week on the
possible cold to frigid temperatures.
