southeastern Palm Beach Counties through 430 AM EDT...

At 354 AM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking
a strong thunderstorm over Hillsboro Beach, or over Lighthouse Point,
moving southwest at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Tamarac, Margate,
Lighthouse Point, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Lauderhill, Coconut Creek,
Oakland Park, North Lauderdale, Lauderdale Lakes, Wilton Manors,
Hillsboro Beach, Sea Ranch Lakes, Lazy Lake, Broadview-Pompano Park,
Village Park, Twin Lakes, and Palm Aire.

Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 351 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Boynton Beach and Village Of Golf.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
