Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM... * Until 1100 AM EDT. * At 928 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 13 nm east of Amelia City, or 36 nm south of St. Simons Island, moving west at 20 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM... Waters from Altamaha Sound GA to Fernandina Beach FL from 20 to 60 NM... Waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL from 20 to 60 NM... At 900 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of heavy showers and a thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This area of activity was located 26 nm east of Amelia City, or 39 nm southeast of St. Simons Island, moving west at 15 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. &&
