...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southeastern St. Johns County in northeastern Florida... * WHEN...Until 400 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 155 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... In northern Florida, Central Marion, Eastern Marion and Western Marion. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A lifting warm front and moisture due to Hurricane Isaias passing west of the area will bring waves of moderate to heavy rainfall across areas of Northeast Florida today into this evening. Several inches of rain from the last several days will make for saturated soils and additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts may lead to flash flooding.
