For the first Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 15 expected. For the second Freeze Warning, a hard freeze with temperatures as low as 19 expected. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 13 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northeast and northern Florida and southeast Georgia. * WHEN...For the first Freeze Warning, until 11 AM EST this morning. For the first Cold Weather Advisory, until noon EST today. For the second Freeze Warning and second Cold Weather Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 degrees could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Appropriate action should be taken to ensure tender vegetation and outdoor pets have adequate protection from the cold temperatures. Young children, the elderly and the homeless are especially vulnerable to the cold. Take measures to protect them. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly.
