...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 5 PM EST SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay Area - Ruskin FL has
issued a Lake Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM to
5 PM EST Sunday.

* TIMING...From mid morning on Sunday through late Sunday
afternoon.

* WINDS...Northwest winds 2o to 25 mph with higher gusts.

* IMPACTS...Strong and gusty winds in the wake of a cold front
will bring hazardous boating conditions on area lakes on Sunday.
Small craft operators may want to postpone any trips to area
lakes on Sunday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

* HIGH SURF...Increasing onshore winds in the 20 to 25 knot
range will produce high surf in the 5 to 7 foot range along
area beaches.

* HIGH SURF TIMING...From early Sunday morning through mid
morning on Monday.

* HIGH SURF IMPACTS...Increasing wave action will produce large
breaking waves and high surf along area beaches. Residents and
visitors should remain out of the water.

* RIP CURRENT TIMING...Increasing wave action will create rip
currents along area beaches late tonight through Monday
evening.

* RIP CURRENT IMPACTS...Life threatening Rip Currents are likely
through Monday evening. Always swim near a lifeguard, and never
swim alone!

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore...which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins...
jetties and piers. For maximum safety...swim near a lifeguard.
Pay attention to flags and signs.

If you become caught in a rip current...yell for help. Remain
calm...do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current...swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.

MONDAY...

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay Ruskin has issued a
Small Craft Advisory, which is in effect from 5 AM Sunday to 7 AM
EST Monday.

* WINDS...Northwest winds increasing to 20 to 25 knots with
occasional gusts to gale force from early Sunday morning through
early Monday morning.

* WAVES/SEAS...seas building to 7 to 9 feet near shore and 9 to 11
feet offshore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
