...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Florida, including the following county, Santa Rosa. * WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 617 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pace, Milton, Bagdad, Pea Ridge, Floridatown, Galt City, Ward Basin, Harp, Pine Bluff and Mulat. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...A line of strong thunderstorms will affect Coastal waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Pensacola FL out 20 NM... Coastal waters from Pensacola FL to Pascagoula MS out 20 NM... Eastern Choctawhatchee Bay... Pensacola Bay Area including Santa Rosa Sound... Perdido Bay Area... South Mobile Bay... Western Choctawhatchee Bay... Until 745 PM CDT.... At 611 PM CDT...A line of strong thunderstorms was located along a line extending from near Blackwater Bay Bridge to near Gulf Shores Beach...moving southeast at 15 knots. Locations impacted include... Fort Walton Beach, Big Lagoon, Pensacola Beach, Shalimar, Fort Pickens, Okaloosa Pier, Pensacola Bay, West Choctawhatchee Bay, East Santa Rosa Sound, and West Santa Rosa Sound. The primary threats from these storms are wind gusts up to 30 knots...locally higher waves...and heavy downpours. Boaters should consider seeking safe harbor until these storms have passed. Small hail is also possible with these storms.
