* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Central Manatee County in west central Florida...

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 959 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Mainly rural areas of Central Manatee County.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE...Coastal Manatee, Coastal Sarasota, Coastal Charlotte
and Coastal Lee Counties.

* WHEN...From Friday morning through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Florida, including the following
areas, Coastal Citrus, Coastal Hernando, Coastal Hillsborough,
Coastal Manatee, Coastal Pasco, Inland Citrus, Inland Hernando,
Inland Hillsborough, Inland Manatee, Inland Pasco, Pinellas and
Sumter.

* WHEN...From 5 AM EDT early this morning through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A frontal boundary across the central Florida peninsula will lift
slowly north today.  Deep tropical moisture remains over the
region.  Numerous to widespread showers and scattered
thunderstorms are expected throughout the day with locally heavy
rain likely.  Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches with locally 5+
inches will be possible.
